Benefit of Possibilities Treasure Hunt FAQ’s

What is this event?

The Benefit of Possibilities is the annual fundraising event for Aspire Richmond. This year’s theme is Treasure Hunt and takes place in two parts. The first is a Treasure Map where people can visit open and inclusive sponsor locations throughout the city of Richmond. Anyone and everyone can participate in the Treasure Map. The second part is the Celebration Event. This is a ticketed event and will take place on November 4th. There will be food, children’s activities, a silent auction and a 50/50 draw. For those who did compete the Treasure Map, there will be a special prize from the Treasure Chest! You can do the Treasure Map or the Celebration event but it’s the most fun if you do both.

When does the early bird deadline for the Celebration Event end? What will the prices be thereafter?

Early bird deadline for tickets ends after October 21, 2023. Ticket prices will then be:

Adults $55; Children $35; Multipack (4 adults) $200; Family (2 adults and 2 kids) $150

Will you still be having a gala?

We will not have a formal gala as we did in past years. After much reflection on the importance of community and inclusion, this year’s major fundraising event will allow greater access, participation and more opportunities for everyone to join the fun.

What is the dress code?

As we want the event to be as accessible and welcoming as possible, you may wear whatever you like (but pirate or island attire is always an option).

Do I have to complete the Treasure Map?

You do not have to complete the Treasure Map in order to attend the ticketed Celebration Event, although it is encouraged. Those who do complete the Treasure Map will receive a special prize from the Treasure Chest. Prizes will only be for guests who attend the Celebration Event.

Do I need to buy a ticket in order to do the Treasure Map?

No, the Treasure Map is open to anyone and everyone and is a fun activity that will let you explore the city of Richmond, visit inclusive businesses and see a few Aspire Richmond program sites.

What are sponsor locations?

Sponsor locations are businesses who believe in the importance of community inclusion and have stepped up with a generous donation to support this event.

Who is this event for? Can I bring my kids?

All parts of the Benefit of Possibilities are open to everyone. Kids are encouraged to participate. There is separate pricing for children and families and there will be children’s activities at the Celebration Event

What is the 50/50 draw?

The 50/50 draw is a raffle where you buy tickets to win money.  The drawn ticket winner will win half the money raised with the other half supporting Aspire.  The more tickets you buy, the greater your chances of winning and the bigger the jackpot. Tickets must be purchased in person at Aspire’s Head Office leading up to the event and they will be available at the Celebration event on November 4.  One ticket is $2, three tickets are $5, and 10 tickets are $10.  Good Luck!!

Do I need to be at the Celebration Event to win the 50/50 draw?

No. The ticket will be drawn and announced at the event, however, if the person is not in the room, the ticket will be shared on Aspire’s Facebook, Instagram and X pages. The winner will have one week, or until November 12 to come forward to claim the prize otherwise the ticket will be drawn again. The new ticket number will be posted on the same channels and the winner will once again have one week to claim their prize.
